Corporate, Women's and Spiritual Retreats

The Blacktail has hosted many prominent retreats and programs. We have a variety of unique facilities and amenities to offer that are included in the above per person rate.

The Hogan, is an octagonal building that has windows on every wall offering an extraordinary 360 degree view of the Rocky Mountains. The Hogan has electric heat and is completely private, sitting about 500 yards up on the hill to the west of the Main Lodge. Vehicle Transportation to and from the Hogan can be provided for those who are unable to walk the foot path to it. The Hogan is perfect for family reunions, storytelling, group processing, dance, meditation, and ceremony. Bathroom facilities are located outside, adjacent to the building. Individual futon cushions, chairs, and water are always available. The Hogan can comfortably facilitate groups of 10-40.

River Adventures

Whether you like to fish a mountain stream or cast your line across a wide river there are endless fishing opportunities. The South fork of the Dearborn River flows through the ranch for mountain stream fishing. Minutes away from the Blacktail are the Blackfoot and Missouri Rivers. They are both Blue Ribbon, premium fly-fishing rivers. Guided fishing trips can be arranged during your stay.

The same two amazing rivers offer an exciting day of rafting and river fun! Guided day and overnight trips are available through the Blacktail. Groups of 4 or more interested in a guided fishing or rafting tour, please contact our office for additional cost information and reservations.

Bird Watching

The Blacktail Ranch's 8,000 open acres of land borders the Helena National Forest. We offer an endless trail system for exploration. Many species of birds fly to remote areas of the earth to mate and reproduce each year in hopes of finding a safe haven from predators. The Blacktail Ranch is perfectly situated along the Northern Pacific Flyway and has remarkable bird watching opportunities.
