Natural beauty... comfortable luxury... peaceful... secluded... WildSpring feels like the kind of place you'd find in Big Sur. You'll feel like you're visiting a private estate, rather than a hotel.
And...help yourself to coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices, fruit, popcorn, bottled water and chocolate(!) in our Guest Hall at any time.
Find the time and space to get away from the real world and rediscover the magic that brought you together. Enjoy the peace and quiet of a naturally beautiful retreat setting, but with spa-quality accommodations. The five cabin suites are stylish and comfortable, built like small homes, with radiant heating, vaulted ceilings, and separate sleeping and living areas divided by pocket doors. They have everything you could want to cuddle indoors, including candles, wine glasses, spa robes, a Toshiba LCD TV/DVD and Sony iPod/CD stereo (with a wonderful library of music, books, games and over 400 DVDs to borrow). We can even bring fine Oregon wines to your cabin.
We can provide a number of special activities to help you or your group enjoy your time here. As well as the spiritual offerings described below, we can develop art and craft options for groups, such as workshops to create a Native American dreamcatcher or talking stick from leather, driftwood, stones, beads and feathers, or art classes with professional teachers to help engage your creative spirit. Plus, you can schedule a massage, manicure, or pedicure in the privacy of your cabin (enjoy the luxury of being able to sit and relax afterward without having to get dressed and go anyplace else). Use the completely equipped modern kitchen in the Guest Hall to prepare your own meals or try the various restaurants, diners and cafes in Port Orford, Bandon and Gold Beach… all within half an hour’s drive. Explore the many art galleries in town, or look for agates and driftwood on our beaches. Visit interesting historical sites as well as Cape Blanco, the most westerly point in the 48 states, where you can stretch your arms and feel the raw power of winds that average 25 mph in the summer and can reach over 100mph in the fierce winter storms.
You have a lot to choose from in the southern Oregon Coast: Some of the most beautiful hiking trails through the mountain, along our rivers and overlooking the ocean. We can even arrange for guided hiking tours, where you learn about the animals, birds and plants, as well as our geology, history, myths and Native American lore. Enjoy jet boats up the Rogue River in Gold Beach, sunset horseback rides on the beach, birding, ocean, river and lake fishing and world class golf – at Bandon Dunes and other courses in this area.
WildSpring is a lovely setting for small weddings and commitment ceremonies. The perfect, peaceful setting for families and friends to spend time with each other and celebrate this special event. Imagine an open-air ceremony overlooking the ocean on the Guest Hall deck or in Mary's Grove next to the walking labyrinth surrounded by 100-ft trees. We can set up the Guest Hall for the reception (and even move the ceremony inside in case of inclement weather), where the floor-to-ceiling windows bring the outside in. Or design a candlelit party on the deck with a brilliant canopy of stars. And, we can arrange for everything you need, including catering for a reception/dinner, flowers, decorations, cake and officiate.
This is where WildSpring shines. On five acres of old Native American grounds, it has a calm, sacred feeling. Walk the 7-circuit labyrinth, with benches to meditate before your journey or to contemplate insights that came during your walk. Sit and reflect in Mary's Grove, where a haunting Carerra marble statue, Mary of the Open Heart and Mind, seems to reach out and heal your soul. Find a private meditation alcove in the trees, or sway in a hammock, look up at the treetops dancing in the wind and imagine a different life. We can also offer morning Tai chi sessions, guided meditation sessions, using visualization to achieve a deep meditative state. And, with enough guest interest, we can conduct a Native American drumming/flute circle.
Only a few years old, WildSpring is a Select Registry Inn, has great reviews in travel guides, newspapers and national magazines, a birding site on the Oregon Coast Birding Trail and certified wild animal habitat by The Wildlife Federation.
Best Places of the Northwest gave it their highest rating and Editor's Choice, and it's been recommended twice in the New York Times and USAToday, in the Wall Street Journal, and four times in Sunset Magazine.
